ECS Singers - an inclusive community choir!

ECS is a choir made up of 40 sopranos, 30 altos, 10 basses and 10 tenors and has musical team which include leader, Simon Thompson, assistant Tim Heywood, accompanists Mike Beard and Louise Strickland. In addition, for concerts, they are joined by Martin Roscoe (guitar) and Paul Mountain (drums). All lyrics and IT are produced by Stuart Duke.

We teach songs by ear and by sight, encouraging people to learn how to read music and sing in a choir. Our repertoire has increased to 40 songs in our first five years.

We rehearse at West Bridgford Methodist Church, Musters Road, West Bridgford
Nottingham, NG2 7PQ and support Dove Cottage and Histio UK. So far we have raised £4000 this year.

Recent concerts include a collaboration at WBMC with West Bridgford Social Singers performing songs together from 'Les Mis' and Queen. We boarded the singing train to Cromford and had a fantastic day!

Rehearsals

We attract 70 singers each week and have a nice balance between a warm-up, songs we know well, new songs and a very short break. The full rehearsal starts at 7.45pm.

Social

We have three social events, one in each term, at restaurants and bars. We have an annual residential trip. This year it's Bakewell again and last year Retford. We also performed on the singing train to Cromford  in May 2019.

Uniform

Our choir have smart short sleeved blouses/shirts and optional fleeces and coats.

So we are enjoying ourselves and getting better and better!
